As our Grüner block approaches its teenage years, we have come to grips with managing its vigour. Indeed we have removed a section in a gully where the vines have always suffered with wet feet, which has brought the block back into a better balance. The work in the vineyard is paying back in spades in the glass. The 2024 Eden Hall Grüner Veltliner is pale golden yellow with cut white peach and white pepper on the nose. The palate opens with stone fruits of peach and nectarine, followed by a textural element of pear, and back notes of blood orange and grapefruit as testimony to its strong acid backbone. A wine that is growing in stature. Chill and drink anytime, but will age gracefully.
