2023 Reserve Riesling

Each year we make a Reserve Riesling from the very best parcel of fruit out of one of our four Riesling blocks. Block 7 is on a roll, and for the
fifh year straight was selected as the standout. Pale straw with a perfumed nose of rose petal and jasmine. Tropical fruits including guava
over zesty lemon on the palate with an acid backbone that delivers a long steely finish. A generous, yet linear Eden Valley Riesling of class. Drink
now but built to last.

Vintage Report

We entered the 2023 growing season with above average soil moisture and got off to a good start. This was followed by a cool, wet spring that fortunately had a positive effect on vine growth resulting in the development of long loose bunches with good air flow that minimised disease pressure. Thankfully, a mild summer provided a long, cool ripening period, and despite our concerns, a relatively late vintage progressed at a relaxed pace, with reasonably good yields, and importantly, excellent quality.
