With the release of the 2011 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion, Eden Hall returns to 5 star status. Previously, Eden Hall had attained “Crimson 5 Stars” status for maintaining a five star rating for three consecutive vintages. James Halliday has always been a strong advocate for the Eden Hall brand, concluding;

“The Riesling, Shiraz Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon are all excellent, the red wines outstanding.”

Eden Hall Riesling 2009 – 5 stars

“Already bright green-yellow; a tight, complex and powerful Riesling bursting with lime and mineral fruit that surges through the palate to the long finish.”

Screwcap – 11.5% alc – Rating 95 – To 2019 – RRP $20

Eden Hall Shiraz 2006 – 5 stars

“Strong crimson-red; intense black fruits, licorice, spice and bitter chocolate drive bouquet and palate alike; the tannins are generous but fully ripe and balanced, as is the oak.”

Screwcap – 14.5% alc – Rating 95 – To 2026 – RRP $44

Eden Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 – 5 stars

“Very correct blackcurrant and cassis fruit allied with cedary oak on both bouquet and palate, and supported by ripe tannins; there are also some savoury/olivaceous notes.”

Screwcap – 14.5% alc – Rating 94 – To 2026 – RRP $38

Eden Hall CSV Cabernet Shiraz Viognier 2006 – 4.5 stars

“Bright colour; the normal soothing influence of the viognier is not obvious here; the palate points in several directions, acidity obvious; certainly has character.”

Screwcap – 14.5% alc – Rating 93 – To 2021 – RRP $23
