We are very gratified with James Halliday’s ongoing support for the Australian wine industry in general, and in particular for the Eden Hall brand. Fingers crossed that next year we can regain the 5 Crimson stars that we previously achieved in 2008 and 2012. “The Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are all excellent, the red wines outstanding”
Eden Hall Block 3 Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 – 94
“Made from selected rows of grapes on Block 3. The lengthy sojourn in oak (bottled Jan ’13) has in no way harmed this rich cabernet, the colour deep purple-crimson, the varietal fruit bell-clear, the tannins rounded, and the oak integrated.”
14% alc – Rating 94 – to 2030
Eden Hall Block 4 Shiraz 2010 – 94
“Not only a single vineyard, not even a single block, but comes from selected rows of Block 4, and not bottled until Jan ’13. The strong crimson-purple colour introduces a wine full of fleshy red and black fruits, a sprinkle of spice, fully resolved tannins and quality oak. The balance is such that it can be enjoyed at any time over the next 20+ years.”
14% alc – Rating 94 – to 2035
Eden Hall Riesling 2012 – 94
“A single vineyard wine, which faithfully reflects the terroir of the Eden Valley, already full of lemon and lime fruit; most will be consumed well before its likely maturity date 7-10 years out, for it is perfectly balanced right now.”
