2018 Viticulturist of the Year – Dan Falkenberg

The Barons of Barossa have awarded their 2018 Viticulturist of the Year to Eden Hall’s vineyard manager Dan Falkenberg.

The award recognises his dedication to the Barossa Grape Growing industry and his innovative approach to viticulture. Dan’s contributions include:

• Viticultural R&D to improve quality through water conservation and biodiversity

• A focus on sustainable growing methods

• Super-Premium grape production resulting in outstanding wines that are true to variety and showing the subtle power of the Barossa and the elegance of the Eden Valley.

Dan Falkenberg is a fourth generation Barossa grape grower and has managed the Eden Hall vineyard and viticultural program since 2011.

He has implemented extensive viticultural practices including bio-diversity programs, mulching, mid-row native grass improvements and more precise water management.

These carefully instituted refinements have lifted the quality of fruit production along with more consistent yield across each block enhancing vinification.

Dan is a key figure in the Eden Hall team.He brings experience, vision and passion so that you can enjoy great wines from the beautiful Eden Valley.
